Gram-Scale Synthesis of Carbon-Supported Sub-5 nm PtNi Nanocrystals for Efficient Oxygen Reduction

چکیده
The preparation of a high performance and durability with low-platinum (Pt) loading oxygen reduction catalysts remains challenge for the practical application fuel cells. Alloying Pt transition metal can greatly improve activity reaction (ORR). In this work, we present one-pot wet-chemical strategy to controllably synthesize carbon supported sub-5 nm PtNi nanocrystals ~3% loading. as-prepared PtNi/C-200 catalyst Pt/Ni atomic ratio 2:3 shows 0.66 A mgpt−1 outstanding over 10,000 potential cycles in 0.1 M KOH half-cell condition. exhibits highest ORR activity, an onset (Eonset) 0.98 V half-wave (E1/2) 0.84 V. mass specific are 3.89 times 9.16 those 5% commercial Pt/C.
